DO NOT RENT IN THIS BUILDING. I've lived in this apartment building for 6 years and it has been far from great. Thank god for no more broker fees so I can get far far away, FINALLY. In terms of tenants, most of them (not all but most) view newcomers as "temporary invaders" who are just invading their home and believe that you don't have as many rights as they do. Better not complain about noise or smoking in the building common areas otherwise most of them start giving you the cold shoulder because "that's not what people do in the heights". I get that most of them have lived there a long time but still, I'm paying rent here and guess what, it's a lot more than they're paying. Even so, the building does not enforce any rules or laws so don't expect anything. Honestly, they might as well just designate this as a smoker building. Doesn't matter if it's weed or cigarettes, if it's not one it's the other. Did you order something? Better be home to receive it. Packages disappear left and right and unless you're on good terms with those tenants who take said packages (and you know who to ask), you'll never get it. Tenants take your packages and if you don't claim it from their apartment, they keep it. And don't bother asking the super to check the cameras, he can never be bothered. I'm not even sure the cameras work after all this time. The street noise, building parties (that go on until 4am), and stoop parties (which always result in trash left everywhere) are loud and they don't respect you when you ask them to quiet down. Even better than that though, tenants on the upper floors throw trash out their windows or the stairwell as opposed to in their own trash cans. I can't even tell you how many used condoms I've seen during my time here... and don't expect anyone to clean it up. Want repairs done? Don't bother. Even when something is "fixed" it's not done well or right. Everything is just a bandaid to hold things over for a while until it breaks again (which it will). And to add to that as of recently, the building has started shaking. The walls shake so hard that it rattles all the doors and things fall from the walls. However, if the super can't feel it, it's not a real issue. Out of sight out of mind I guess? Or something like that... I even took a video to show proof, but it didn't get me anywhere. Instead, I now have a crack in my hallway as a direct result of the shaking that will likely be coming out of my security deposit. Love it. This building should read, "Enter At Your Own Risk". Good luck.DO NOT RENT IN THIS BUILDING. I've lived in this apartment building for 6 years and it has been far from great. Thank god for no more broker fees so I can get far far away, FINALLY.
