Nick seems like a nice guy, and he didn't give us much trouble for the 2 years we were his tenants, but then he stole $700 of our security deposit when we left.
We always took good care of the place, and when we left we spent over 30 hours combined cleaning the place. It was absolutely spotless, under the fridge in the stove, everything. Once we left and moved out of state, he waited 6 weeks and then sent us a fraction of our deposit, charging us cleaning fees for things we already cleaned, and charging us for plumbing services which his own repair men admitted were cause by his old broken-down dishwasher and pipes. We had normal wear-and-tear, stained burner pans, a wobbly drawer, and that as about it for 2 years. And for that and his self-caused clogs and his made-up cleaning fees, he charged us $700.
He seems nice at first, but he will outright lie about the condition of the place to steal your deposit. Absolute scumbag.
And yes, we took photos, but its simply not worth suing over, especially since we're living in another state now. He knows its not worth fighting over, so he will screw you.
