As the other renter said, AVOID New Age at all costs and DO NOT RENT this apartment! For starters, the floor in the living room is SINKING and also in the 2nd bedroom - the wall next to the 1st bedroom and in the 3rd bedroom - stand over the floor vent. This was a shoddy rehab done without a home inspection. Go into the basement at your own RISK. There is no support for the 1st floor and the kitchen was built over top of a dirt crawl space. They CAN NOT RENT this Apartment until they fix all the building violations from Licenses & Inspections. Give L&I a call. When a property has violations, they can not collect rent until the violations have been properly repaired and signed off by an L&I Inspector. If you want to live in a building which may collapse and you may end up along with your belongings in the basement, rent this apartment. If you want to pay for the electric in the basement because the meters were never separated, be my guest. Call PECO who will verify that. Don not expect to get your security deposit back. For 3 years there was a recurring leak in the ceiling in the 3rd bedroom over the closet and windows that grew mold that they never fixed. If you want to be aggravated every summer when the tenants on the 2nd floor run the A/C and the ceiling collapses. Their idea of fixing a ceiling leak that grew mold was to cover the mold with spackle and a stain blocker. Bright and sunny windows, right. Try drafty windows that are not insulated. Your gas bills will run between $250-$450 in the winter months. You will have high gas bills because the furnace is old, the thermostat never turns off, the ducts are filled with mold and you will become sick. The sewage pipe backs up causing a horrible smell throughout the apartment. DO NOT put anything in the shed unless you want it to be destroyed by mold that is growing thru the floor. DO NOT rent the garage, the roof leaks. For 2 years the apartment on the 2nd floor did not have heat so the tenants moved out until a law student challenged them in Landlord Tenant Court. If you put your rent in escrow, they pull an Apartment Inspection in an attempt to intimidate you. They do not give you 24 hours notice to enter your apartment. Contractors and their repair people are given keys to your apartment to steal and damage as they please. The owner refuses to make any repairs, but he wants your money. Everything they do is on the Slick and Slimy. If you want to live in a building where the tenants on the 2nd and 3rd floors party until 4am with no regard for working people. They sublease out the apartment immediately after they move in giving keys to all their friends. The Electric washer and dryer in the basement is always broke, since all their friends wash their clothes, break the machine and they never notify the office. The building has mice and roaches. Snow removal is a joke and the grass grew 3 feet before the cut it. The $50 application fee goes into their pocket, they do not check tenants credit. Many a bums have rented at that property. Bums who slam the front door all hours of the night and stomp up and down the steps. No Security in the building and the Smoke Alarm always going off from people smoking weed and burnt food. When you move, they will continue to send mail and notices to the apartment even though you gave them a forwarding address. Their SLIMY IGNORANT staff and attorney will send mail addressed as Jane Doe and All Occupants to bypass the Post Office from forwarding the mail, but also so that you miss the notice. If you are going to pay $1,000 in rent, get one of those new apartments they built from the ground up across or down the street. At the END of the DAY renting this apartment may get you BURIED and it is really not worth it!
